MSc Biomedical Science Neuroscience
BSc(Hons) Nutritional Therapy, Dip(CNE), MBANT
I have always been enthusiastic about the preparation and (more importantly) the eating of tasty food. However, it was in my mid-twenties that I first became interested in nutrition and the concept of “food as medicine”. I left my career in IT, retrained as a Nutritional Therapist and obtained a First Class honours degree through the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Medicine (CNELM – Middlesex University, UK). I got an early introduction to nutrition protocols for mental health while I was still completing my nutrition degree with a part time position providing clinical support to the practitioners at Patrick Holford’s Brain Bio Centre in Richmond, London.
For many years, I ran a clinical practice in central London servicing private clients and also providing corporate health workshops and initiatives to support employee health at schools, charity groups, gyms and high profile organisations including Nomura Bank PLC, the BBC. I was also fortunate to consult with The Optimum Health Clinic, which gave me an in depth understanding of how to improve outcomes for complex patients living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / ME / Fibromyalgia. In 2017, I did training in Miami with the Institute for Functional Medicine and Dr Dale Bredesen, a research neurologist based in the USA, to learn about new advances in Alzheimer’s prevention and treatment which eventually led to becoming a ReCODE 2.0 Certified Practitioner.
With my father’s health in decline due to Lewy Body dementia, I relocated back to Perth, Australia in 2018, I worked for several years with Metagenics, a global leader in nutritional education and nutraceuticals. At the start of 2022, I made the decision to return to study and I complete my masters in Neuroscience and the University of Western Australia in 2024 with a dissertation exploring a novel nutritional intervention strategy to improve outcomes for those living with drug-resistant epilepsy.
In 2024, I also joined Tignum, a global team of experts who work with fortune 500 executives to bring them on a journey of Sustainable Human Performance. This model of tailored holistic coaching comprises of Mindset, Nutrition, Movement and Recovery is a perfect fit for the life which I aspire to myself, and want for others.
I continue to work with clients for gut, immune, hormone and general health issues but I am most passionate specifically supporting brain health, mental health, neurological conditions, dementia prevention and early intervention.
